A rezoning case, now pending before the Guilford County Commissioners, would rezone a four (4)
acre tract just north of the Lowes Shopping Center at 1226 Guilford College Road from Residential to Light
Industrial for a self storage facility.
The case is scheduled to be heard on Thursday, April 16,2009 starting at 5:30 p.m.
Self storage is totally incompatiable with this neighborhood which is residential except for some light commercial, banking, grocery etc. If it is rezoned light industrial, it could be used for utility substations and general warehouses as well.
Please join the fight to preserve Guilford County neighborhoods and demand orderly development which will enhance the property values. Industrial warehouses must not be allowed in neighborhoods. There is plenty of space for those in areas that don't affect our quality of life and detract from the local neighborhoods.
